Where the Blue of the Night
George Hugh Malcolm Potts wss born in Dalton in Furness, Cumbria. His father and grandfather were both called George so to avoid confusion the family knew him as Malcolm. He attended Ulverston Grammar School and then spent 12 years in the Royal Air Force. His postings included Changi (Singapore) and RAF Gan, in the middle of the Indian Ocean. He also took part in the Brunei Revolution and he and many other British Service personnel were awarded the Pinjat Jasa Malaysia medal for their efforts. He was proud that he consistently achieved his Marksman badge and considered his time in the RAF as the best years of his life! He xied on 30 April at Musgrove Park Hospital and leaves his wife, Ruth, four sons, Mark, David, Martin and Richard, a sister Barbara. three granddaughters, four grandsons and a great grandson.
